Huntress – Range DPS is the name of the game as she has the ability to make her range attacks carry through critters. She can also place a number of booby traps that include the abiltities to set the critters alight or even stun them witless.

Adept – Is the the mage class. His towers specialize in high damage output with the longest range. The mage himself specializes in AoE attacks and has a charge shot ability with his staves.

Squire – This is a bruiser class. Both character and towers he builds have high HP. He may go into a blood curdling rage to make quick work of the tougher and more hungrier critters. His towers offer the best means of holding of the hordes of critters that all want to take a bite out of your tasty Eternia crystal.

You may traverse these 4 acts with 4 characters at default, 5 if you choose to buy the optional DLC which will allow you play as a barbarian. Each class has a unique set of towers they can build and have unique abilities to help stave off the famished hordes. The 4 default classes are as follows:

But what is Dungeon Defenders (DD)? Well it combines everybodiesВPfavouriteВPtowerВPdefenceВPmechanic with what we all soВPdesperatelyВPcrave, loot! DD combines towerВPdefenceВPwithВPRPGВPelements that make games like Diablo 3, Kingdoms of Amalur and Dungeon Siege (third game doesn’t count) soВPaddictive. Just as in Diablo 2, DD has a 4 act singleplayer/co-op campaign. In each mission of each Act, your goal is to defend the obviously tasty “Eternia Crystals” form hordes of evil and hungry creatures. To top it all off at the end of each act you get to fight a nice big boss that will give you some of the more unique items in the game, such as an chainsword from Warhammer 40k universe!

I’m sure that most people reading this review are pretty excited that Diablo 3 finally has a release date somewhere in May. Others reading this review, like me, have lost all hope of ever seeing Diablo 3 before the advent of hover skateboards and talking robot butlers. So what do we play in the meantime? Dungeon Defenders, that’s what!

Great game at a great price, will definitely keep you occupied while you wait for the eventual (if ever) release of Diablo 3Can only be bought via Steam, otherwise this game is golden
